This is a fantasy portrait of my cat Bettan.
My Turkish Van cat Bettan died on 22 November 2010 (here's the journal entry I made about it). We (my family and I) often joked about her fiery temper. She, more so than our dog (Tifa), was a bitch. But we loved her nevertheless.
Bettan was white with amber eyes, two red spots on the forehead and a red-striped tail. We joked that the two red spots were really undeveloped horns, befitting a little devil.
In the afterlife, she is more than a cat; she is a force of nature - a Fire Elemental: the personification of Fire.
She is now made of pure fire, and the two spots have become fiery antlers. Beware her burning gaze!

Oh my, that's such a beautiful tribute to a departed friend.
I absolutely love this style of drawing, it would fit perfectly in a temple or shrine dedicated to fire elementals.
